Rene Kink was a hefty 183cm, 91kg build footballer who played 181 games for
Collingwood, Essendon & St Kilda between 1973 & 1986. He is from Ararat, and
commenced playing for Collingwood, playing a preliminary final as a 16 year old,
and becoming the youngest player to play in a final.

Rene was a mercurial footballer playing half forward & full forward. He had a
booming kick and was occasionally a spectacular mark, but did lack some
consistency. He played in 5 losing Grand Finals – 1977, 79, 80, 81 & 83 and
missed a winning Grand Final in 1984 for Essendon, due to a serious knee injury.

Lou Richards named him ‘The Incredible Hulk’. He has had a variety of work,
from Hairdresser to gym & boxing instructor. He had a cameo appearance in the
movie “The Club” in 1980.
