Howard Beer is a former Victorian Homicide Detective who works in anti-corruption for International Cricket.

Howard was in charge of anti-corruption operations for the ‘Indian Cricket League’ and was
involved in the Chris Cairns investigation. He was then involved in the Chris Cairns libel case in the High Court in London against Lalit Modi a former Commissioner of the Indian Premier League. Tony Greig was Executive Director of the Indian Cricket League at the time when Chris Cairns was ‘sent home’. Howard was a significant witness in the long seven day trial in 2012, and testified that he had no doubts that Cairns was involved in match fixing. Cairns was successful in his libel case.

Howard was also involved in the investigation of spot-fixing allegations in the Bangladesh Premier League.

This should be a very interesting and informative talk on the ‘seedier’ side of cricket.
